From 11-21.05.2019, students of the specialisations Career Counselling and Career Coaching, Adult Education and Social Marketing and Resocialisation carried out study visits to institutions related to guidance and career coaching in Lisbon (Portugal). The UNESCO Chair provided substantive supervision for the organisation and conduct of the visits. Special thanks to Prof. Maria Eduarda Duarte.
The students attended lectures and meetings at the Department of Psychology and at the Institute of Education, learning about counselling pathways; at Community Services, providing counselling services to students at the University of Lisbon; at the Student Counselling Centre at the Instituto Politécnico (IPL). They attended a lecture organised especially for them at the Instituto e Centro de Emprego e Formação Profissional da Amadora, dealing with assistance for low-skilled people. They also learnt about the working methods used by counsellors employed in the education sector, using the example of the primary school Agrupamento de Escolas Patricio Prazeres.
Lectures and meetings on counselling concepts and practical solutions at the University of Lisbon were given by prof. Maria Eduarda Duarte, Prof. Isabel Janeiro, Prof. Luis Curral (Dean of the Faculty of Psychology). In other institutions, lectures and classes were given by dr Isabel do Vale, Dr Rute Agostinho, Dr Helena Lourenço.
The study visits were made possible by the project “Integrated Programme for the Development of the University of Wrocław II 2019-2023” co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund.
